Chile: Wine Country & the Coast

Easy to Moderate Terrain: 3-5 Miles Daily

Chile Walking Tour Map

From sky scraping Andean peaks to serene beach towns, Chile offers remarkable panoramas and charming culture by the wine barrel. Experience it all on an adventure that takes you to breathtaking hilltop lookouts, endangered palm forests, and ocean-side restaurants—with ample wine tastings along the way. Starting in the French-Riviera-style town of Zapallar, you have opportunities to spot Humboldt penguins while strolling beside the ocean. Continuing to the UNESCO World Heritage site of Valparaíso, you encounter the vibrant street art and charming cobblestone streets of a historic port town before pressing on to Isla Negra to explore the quirky home of renowned poet Pablo Neruda. Delight in Chile’s natural beauty on walks through the Colchagua Valley—a landscape that echoes Tuscany but with a rugged spirit all its own. Through it all, delight in the finest Chilean cuisine, savoring empanadas, seafood stews, grilled sea bass, and more—all paired with world-class vintages of Chilean wine.

Tour Highlights:
  • Explore central Chile’s wide variety of landscapes on foot: vineyards, sandy beaches, spectacular coastlines, river valleys, and Andean foothills.
  • Experience the best of Chile’s burgeoning wine culture: touring the region’s estates and cellars, sampling fine vintages served by an expert sommelier—even blending, corking, and labeling your own bottle.
  • Contemplate glorious sea views as you feast on Chilean culinary specialties such as caldillo de congrio (eel soup) and guachinanguito (red snapper).

Chile Walking Tour Guide, Antu Rios
Antu Daniel Rios Rodriguez

Antu Daniel Rios Rodriguez was raised on a family farm in the south of Chile and has been a nature lover since childhood. Moving to the city at the age of 18 in order to study economics, he soon discovered a passion for traveling and moved throughout the world, even spending time in the Brazilian Amazon harvesting bananas and farming in the southern United States. Eventually settling back in Chile, he enjoys showing off his native Chile while also running a productive organic farm with his family.
