Czech Republic: Vienna to Prague

Hidden in the rolling hills and fairy-tale villages of the Czech Republic, a spectacular world awaits your discovery: rococo chateaux, world-class breweries, age-old forests cloaked in moss, and beguiling folk traditions. You’ll stroll the baroque cobblestone streets of Telč, the ancient catacombs of Tábor, and the crooked medieval lanes of Český Krumlov, passing the facades of brightly colored rowhouses, covered arcades, and riverside paths. In the grassy highlands of Moravia and Javorice, walk quiet meadows to serene fishponds, stopping by a Renaissance-era hunting lodge to admire the view. Prague, the “city of a thousand spires,” offers a grand and gothic labyrinth of streets to explore, leading up to Prague Castle—the world’s largest palace complex. Along the way, hoist steins of crisp pilsner in ancient breweries, sip glasses of white wine in Weinviertel (the “wine quarter”), and delight in the region’s culinary specialties: handmade dumplings, creamy garlic soup, fragrant goulash, and much more.

Tour Highlights:
  • Pair an authentic dinner in Telč with a special performance by a children’s folk dance ensemble—who rarely perform for visitors, but make an exception due to their relationship with us.
  • In a historic church in Český Krumlov, discover a different side of Czech history through a museum devoted to the country’s intricately painted marionettes.
  • Sample the finest Bohemian pilsners at a traditional brauhaus (brewery) that has been brewing its signature ale since the 14th century.
