Czech Republic: Vienna to Prague

Easy to Moderate Terrain: 4.5-9 Miles Daily

Czech Republic Walking Tour Map

Hidden in the rolling hills and fairy-tale villages of the Czech Republic, a spectacular world awaits your discovery: rococo chateaux, charming medieval villages, age-old forests cloaked in moss, and beguiling folk traditions. You’ll stroll pastoral trails that evoke Bohemia of old, pausing to get a taste of the nation’s medieval splendor among the ancient squares and walls of Tabor, the crooked lanes of Český Krumlov, and the pastel-colored streets of České Budejovice—authentic, uncrowded, and home of the original Budweiser Budvar. History’s roots run equally deep at your unique accommodations, boutique hotels, on Old World squares and in central Prague. And all Czech walking paths lead to Prague, one of the world’s best-preserved capitals, a spellbinding canvas of medieval architecture. Along the way, you’ll hoist steins of crisp pilsner in ancient breweries, sip glasses of white wine in Weinviertel (Austria’s “wine quarter”), and delight in the region’s culinary specialties: handmade dumplings, creamy garlic soup, fragrant goulash, and much more.

Tour Highlights:
  • Three UNESCO centers: Telč, Český Krumlov, and Prague
  • Enjoy a tasting of the peppery white wine Grüner Veltliner in one of the charming villages of Austria’s Wienviertel (wine quarter).
  • Stay in the heart of the quiet, uncrowded, pastel-hued town of České Budejovice, home to the imperial brewery for the Holy Roman Empire.
  • Savor a gala farewell dinner in Prague in a lovely Old World restaurant with panoramic views of the city before enjoying a post-dinner stroll over the iconic Charles Bridge.
  • Highly supported walking options, with the ability to flexibly tailor distance on average every 1.75 miles
